Born and raised in Priest Hutton, enlisted in Carnforth. Son of Mr Thomas Hutchinson and brother of Mr John Hutchinson of 44 Graham St, Lancaster
Employed as a gardener by Mr Briggs, Linden Hall, Borwick
William was reported missing on 3 July 1916
Also remembered at St Oswald's Church, Warton.
His probate record shows that his father Thomas Hutchinson retired stone breaker received £200 2s and 5d.
The 1911 census shows him aged 26 living with his parents Thomas aged 67 and Jane aged 69. Also on the census record are Elizabeth Wilson born Priest Hutton aged 30 and Hilda Annie Hutchinson born Shoeburyness, Essex, aged 4 grandchildren and Margaret Lowler born Carnforth aged 72 widowed. The address they were all at was Priest Hutton.
