Lance Corporal 3513644 Manchester Regiment 2nd Battalion.
Military records show that he lived at 19 Grosvenor Place with his parents Benjamin and Bertha and his sister Evelyn and his brother William (he also died during WW1). Robert died of his wounds.
The 1911 census shows that his father Benjamin (47) was a railway guard and there was another son John Markey aged 10
